A brief history of whiskey in America, along with a demonstration of how to make and serve classic whiskey cocktails, followed by a short talk on the hows and whys of barrel-aging, and finally a refutation (of sorts) to whiskey's primacy and a modest proposal of using other barrel-aged spirits – such as brandy or rum – in its place, capped with a cocktail that offers proof to back up the proposal.
