DINNER & DOORS 6:30 PM
An all seated show up close and personal "dinner" with the artists.
Multi-platinum artist and songwriter Will Turpin is best known as bassist and backing
vocalist for the Atlanta rock band Collective Soul. Will is a member of the Georgia
Music Hall of Fame and has spent his life surrounded by all types of music. Collective
Soul officially formed in late 1993 and charted an astounding seven No. 1 hits and 19
Top 40 singles in a seven-year period. To date they have sold more than 15 million
records worldwide and continue to tour worldwide while still producing new material.
Turpin grew up around music. For more than four decades his father Bill Turpin has
owned and operated Real 2 Reel Studio in Jonesboro, Georgia., a “Class A” recording
facility that has seen and produced some of the south’s music’s greatest acts. It’s also
where Turpin, who attended Georgia State School of Music in the early 1990s, cut
Serengeti Drivers, his second outing as a solo artist and first full-length CD.
Turpin’s first solo effort, The Lighthouse, was a five-song EP released in 2012 and was
distributed on his indie label, Gooey Records. He also released a recording of the
Christmas carol, “What Child Is This?” in 2013. When not touring with Collective Soul
Turpin gigs with his backing band, The Way and also hosts the annual “Rock the
Cradle,” a rockin’ Christmas-themed charity concert.
Carly Gibson, petite yet mighty, is an Atlanta based singer-songwriter who blends Americana and roots with rock-n-roll and old-school R&B. Carly walks in her own footsteps and draws you in like a magnet with her inviting sultry vocals and sincere lyrics, all gripped together with her gutsy guitar. While her sound is distinctly original, you feel a warm sense of nostalgia less than seconds into her songs as she pays subtle tribute to her many legendary influences including Grace Potter, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Black Crowes, CSNY and Led Zeppelin.
A respected guitarist, Carly has 13 years of performance under her belt. She has opened for artists such as Randall Bramblett, Michael Tolcher and Geoff Achison and has performed with Caroline Aiken, Donna Hopkins, Diane Durrett, Chris Hicks (Marshall Tucker Band), Jeff Sipe and more. Carly is a 2009 and 2010 alumni of the prestigious GRAMMY Camp and is a 2013 graduate of the renowned Atlanta Institute of Music – one of less than a dozen women to complete their guitar program. Besides her solo career, Carly is a founder of and tours with the successful Atlanta-based bands Gibson Wilbanks and The Pussywillows; she is also currently a backing vocalist with American funk-rock legends Mothers Finest. Carly’s original single, Love Me, was released on April 20, 2018, with Victory Music Buzz.
