Kilkenny Cats -
Kilkenny Cats formed in 1983 in Athens, GA, and features Tom Cheek (Vocals), Keith Landers (Guitar), Sean O’Brien (Bass) and Allen Wagner (Drums). Known for their moody Southern dark power pop sound and hard-rocking live shows, Kilkenny Cats emerged in the burgeoning Athens indie rock scene made famous in the seminal rock documentary Athens Inside/Out, and are featured both in the film and on its soundtrack alongside scenemates Pylon, Love Tractor, The B-52’s and R.E.M. Their debut 7-inch “Attractive Figure”/”Of Talk” was followed by their first LP “Hands Down” and the subsequent EP, “Hammer.” Kilkenny Cats toured extensively over the decade into the early ‘90’s until their dissolution in 1991. Their discography has recently been remastered and made available both digitally and on upcoming vinyl and cd reissues with previously unreleased material, with their first show together since their breakup planned in late 2021.

Hazel Virtue –
Eric Britt formed Hazel Virtue with a handful of friends he met at UGA. Their combined talents and passion gave way to an incredible musical formation. Hazel toured extensively throughout the South during the mid to late 90s. The band shined in their live concerts and in their first full-length release, Hip. Hazel became part of the festival circuit, playing at events like Big Day Out, Music Midtown, and Crossroads. Their first single release, My Spanish Puppetfinger, gained popularity and play rotation on over 100 commercial and college radio stations. National interest in the band increased when Billboard magazine named Hazel Virtue one of the top 5 unsigned Southeastern bands. Often referenced as the “next big thing” out of Athens, Hazel toured for years, working hard and playing hard.
In early 2019, the loss of a founding member led the remaining musicians to reconnect and reunite to the recording studio. That fall, Hazel began work on their return album, Full Circle. This double CD includes songs the band had started in Athens to follow up their critically-acclaimed album, Hip. Thrilled to be back in the studio together, the band quickly found their signature sound again—a mix of indie folk and rock n’ roll—at Elevated Basement in Savannah, Georgia. The tracks were mixed in L.A. by longtime Hazel and Grammy-nominated producer, Ken Sluiter. Hazel Virtue will hit the road for a handful of Full Circle concerts this fall.
