Event Description

SOLD OUT Kelly Hogan from The Jody Grind and touring singer w/ The Decemberists

DINNER AND DOORS 7:00 PM

Under 21 must be accompanied by an adult over 40

Chicago vocalist KELLY HOGAN (formerly of Atlanta’s The Jody Grind and The Rock*A*Teens) is known these days as a go-to back-up singer for bands such as The Decemberists, Neko Case, Mavis Staples, Iron & Wine, Jakob Dylan, and Alejandro Escovedo. She pretty much lives on a tour bus — so don’t miss this very rare hometown headlining appearance — backed by an all-star band featuring her bad-ass touring buddy NORA O’CONNOR (Andrew Bird, The Decemberists) on bass and backing vocals, JOHN CARPENDER (of Chicago’s Expo ’76) on drums, and Atlanta’s own superstar ANDY HOPKINS (Flap, Pardner) on guitar.

There will definitely be a few special guests dropping by to sit in for this special homecoming show too.

"Hogan has the range of a gospel belter, the phrasing of a jazz diva, a bit of a country twang, and a taste for humor that makes her something of a difficult fit in the these category-obsessed times.” — Chicago Tribune

"Kelly Hogan is a national treasure” — Andrew Bird

“Kelly Hogan rules!” — M. Ward

W8ing4UFOs is an Atlanta-based songwriting collective.  Their story-songs explore a range of subjects from betrayal and Old Testament justice, to coyotes and flower arranging.   Taft’s lyrics ricochet around the songs as Halloran’s cello, and Fields’s keyboard weave in and out, coming together before tearing the sound apart.  Fratesi’s beats, made from found objects, sticks, and a bass drum, keep the party moving on and on and on.

Since forming in 2015, the group has performed at The Variety Playhouse, The Earl, 529, Eddie’s Attic, Mammal Gallery, Eyedrum, Avondale Towne Cinema, Flicker Theater in Athens, Vaughan's and Circle Bar in NOLA, The Chattanooga Riverbend Festival, and the Chomp & Stomp. They are currently mixing their first album.

Members former bands: The Jody Grind, Opal Foxx Quartet, Smoke, Follow For Now, Cat Power

TYPES OF TICKETS

GENERAL ADMISSION

There are no bad views of our stage at The Vista, even if you are standing!  Often these are the best tickets if you want to be up close and personal with your favorite artist.  Be aware that holders of Standing Room -  Main Floor tickets have not purchased a seat and are not guaranteed a seat. This means that for sold-out shows, holders of these tickets will likely be standing. If you want to assure the exclusivity and comfort of a reserved table at a show that is likely to sell out, we recommend purchasing a Reserved Table.

RESERVED TABLES

Don’t like standing or bumping elbows, or maybe you want to take the worry out of fighting traffic to be early to get a table? Exclusivity may be for you! Reserved Table tickets provide ticket holders the option to have a table saved for you. When the doors open to our venue, your reserved table will be waiting for you. Please note, Reserved Table tickets must be purchased in groups of 4 or 6, as there are 4 or 6 seats per table.
