A recording session at Bogalusa’s Studio in the Country would produce the best New Orleans song of the 20th Century. New Orleans Ladies by Louisiana's Leroux quickly climbed the Billboard charts in July1978 and ultimately became the band’s signature anthem.
It was chosen by readers of Gambit Weekly as the Best New Orleans Song of the 20th Century, and the song went to number 1 in the Southeast region on Billboard.
LeRoux was considered one of the foremost members of the “Southern Rock” music scene at one point, touring with The Allman Brothers Band, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, the Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels, and Wet Willie as well as Jerry Jeff Walker, Emmylou Harris, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and The Neville Brothers. The band also hit the road as well with the Doobie Brothers, Foreigner, Heart, Journey, Kansas, the Kinks, the Little River Band, Kenny Loggins, Willie Nelson, Randy Newman, Pure Prairie League, Bonnie Raitt, REO Speedwagon, Santana, Bob Seger, Steven Stills, Steve Wariner, Muddy Waters, Edgar Winter, and ZZ Top.
Over the years, LeRoux’s television appearances included Don Kirschner's Rock Concert, Solid Gold, Midnight Special, MTV’s Unplugged and its' own PBS live video of Rockin the Nottoway, filmed at Louisiana’s antebellum Nottoway Plantation in Iberville Parish in 1997.
Now, don’t dare miss the first ever appearance by Louisiana’s Leroux in Jimmy Buffett’s hometown of Pascagoula, Miss.!!!!!
