Three5Human is what's exactly missing from today's music scene, a sense of depth and challenge. The band's latest release, 'A Swig From The Acid Bottle', is packed with the perfect combination of hard edge rock fused with tons of soul. The brilliant chemistry between guitarist Tomi Martin and lead singer Trina Meade is the stuff that makes people stop and take notice.
Three5Human adds a lot of texture and creativity and propels the already good songs to become great songs, as is evident on tracks like "Genocidal Youth", the guitar driven "Come Alive" and the AOR vibe of "Perfect Dream".
The lyrics are much more mature and it helps make the music on this CD stand up and stand out. Trina Meade's vocals are a force to be reckoned with, no holds barred. Sweet and soulful (when they need to be), and belting like an erupting volcano (when they have to be) as they deliver some pretty radical lyrical messages. Tomi Martin is nothing short of maniacal on the guitar. His rhythms are tasty and funky, and (conversely) his leads can best be compared to a fire truck en route to a 6-alarm blaze. Actually, when I think about it, his guitar may have been the cause of the blaze as well. This is some pretty serious stuff lyrically...stuff that normally doesn't "fly" when it comes to commercial success ('cause it just scares some people too much in certain parts of this country and world), but there's never any question that Trina feels what she's singing and the band's conviction tilts whatever meter you would use to measure such a thing.
Three5Human is a true rock band and they have a unique and interesting sound. 'A Swig From The Acid Bottle' is awesome and I recommend it to everyone. The lyrics are creative and catchy and the music is amazing. Without a doubt this is one of the better rock albums released in years.
